I'm a kidney donor for my dad, 16 years and still going strong.  I'm so glad I found this page, it's so heartwarming to see people donating and giving back to the cause.

About Me

Received a kidney transplant on September 12, 2009.  Eternally grateful to Alex's family for donating his organs.  He was young and healthy and I have spoke to his mother.  My kidney's failed due to Polycystic Kidney Disease.  Luckily my son has been tested and is negative.  My daughter was checked as a teenager but not as an adult.  I have 4 beautiful grandchildren  2 girls and 2 boys.  I also have another one on the way due in October.  Doing much better than when on dialysis.

About Me

Donated my kidney to my brother Sept. 5, 2007. Spreading the word on the need for organ donations is very important to me. My brother is doing well and on waiting list for pancreas still. A year after our surgery my beautiful niece was born and everytime I look at her I know she is here today because of me and so is my brother. No words can begin to mention how blessed I am to been able to give life to my loved one. It truly is an amazing and wonderful feeling and my goal is to help others achieve this as well.

About Me

May 24, 2010, this is when I was born again! I am a Bi-lateral Lung Transplant receipient. I was transplanted in May, 2010 at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. I was diagnoised with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis ( IPF ) in December, 2005. It's been quite a trip as you well know, but one I would do again in a second! I don't know anything about my donor or his or her family, I have sent letters and cards and they have excepted my coorespondence, so hopefully one day I will get to talk to my Heros family! Until then I will continue to pray for them and hope they find some peace in knowing that I am doing very well! God Bless!! :)

About Me

Hi! I have Hep C which has progressed to cirrhosis with portal hypertension and esophageal varices. I was RECENTLY diagnosed with another auto iummune hepatitis called Primary Billiary Cirrhosis. I am a 57 year olf female. My mom just died last week. Sorry had to put that in as I am sure it is affecting my health. I am on Ursodiol with recurrent sore throat, bronchitis and "female probems." Also still itching.

I found this site because I want to be proactive. I WANT to get the word out about donating the gift of life. If anyone wishes to share with me I am [email protected] I live outside of Albany in upstate NY. Healing hugs to all! Shelley
